To-Do Lists March 01 2017

I've never been able to use calendars, day-planners, or to-do lists consistently.

I've tried all of the following:

  • minimalist list with only 5 things
  • giant list with more things than you can possibly do in a day
  • no list, just write down what you did that day
  • monthly calendar with day-to-day breakdown
  • various apps with charts

Some of these have taken hold for a few days or even a week, but eventually the element of irreducible rascality has it's way and the list no longer functions as a useful tool.

Without a list, I have no direction.

With a list, I get overwhelmed and beat myself up for not finishing all the things.

The current solution is to just try a new list structure every day. Sometimes there is only pictures, sometimes it's filled with motivational quotes that still have some juice to them.

Writing this blog post was on that list, so maybe I'm not doing as bad as I think.
